Gary Jules es un cantautor americano que tuvo mucho éxito con su versión de "Mad World", originalmente de Tears For Fears. La canción salió también en la peli "Donnie Darko". En esta entrevista nos cuenta por qúe fue tan apropiado usar esta canción en la película:

"The Tears For Fears album is all very much about adolescence, about being between childhood and adulthood, about knowing things and about having wisdom, but not having the experience to prove it. That is what attracted us to that particular song because it spoke to that particular time in life."
