Mientras avanzaba la entrevista con Chad Hanks y Martin Cock se desprendió que los dos formadores de American Head Charge se conocieron en un centro de desintoxicación:

"Basically we started the band when Martin and myself met in a treatment center in 1996. As part of the treatment we had to write a song and play it to the people there. I asked Martin if he could sing, and 9 months later we got out, got the gear and found a place to rehearse!"
